Štěpán "RIIJK" Sobocki entered the first division with a surprising loss against FK Teplice's MikiTheGoat, and he faced off against Miki's teammate dalas94 in the next match.
It was a nail-biter with RIIJK taking down the best-of-three series after scoring a second-half winner in the third game.
Our player won the first point thanks to an overtime winner, and the second game would go to extra time again after they scored three apiece. The shootout continued with a three-goal encore and dalas levelled the match, winning 5-4.
The league saw the first-ever tie-breaking game, in which RIIJK proved his dominance by outshooting his opponent 10-2. However, the game remained tied into the second half where RIIJK finally broke the 1-1 score to celebrate a 2-1 victory not only in the game but in the whole match.
RIIJK moved up to seventh place in the league standings with a win and a loss to his name. He trails fourth-placed Emerickson (Sparta) only by the goal differential. T9Laky (Viktoria Pilsen), Seron (Sampi), and MikiTheGoat have won their two opening games.
RIIJK will face off against Laky on Friday while his league match against Sampi will come up next Wednesday.
Patrik "Huhnak" Hornák seems to have found his rhythm in recent days. Fresh off a successful session in a friendly contest against Sampi, Huhnak swept the Wednesday doubleheader to ride the wave of success.
Huhnak took down the inaugural JR Marketing FIFA tournament in the afternoon, beating a field of 72 players (a large portion of whom from the amateur ranks). He denied Slavia Prague's Kobby in the finals.
"It was pretty easy, aside from the final match," Huhnak admitted. "I've been impressed by the tournament, it went smoothly, with no delays. I went unbeaten, so I feel good. Kobby took the lead in the opening game of the finals, but I was still able to win the series 2-0," Huhnak added.
After getting the job done, Huhnak switched to the league mode with a COOL Liga second division scheduled for the evening. Huhnak took on Rozsi, whose confidence was backed by a victory in the season-opener against Pikej.
The series against Huhnak was expected to be a close affair, and the results confirmed the predictions as the tie went into the third game. Huhnak had been the more active player in both of the first two games, but Rozsi won the latter by four goals to one. Huhnak, however, wouldn't let his opponent snatch the win away from him. He swung the pendulum his way in the final game and notched first points in the league.
